Q: I see that your book is a devotional, but it also poses some serious philosophical questions. That’s not my image of a Christian devotional. What is going on here?
A: One of the problems with Christian spirituality is that it is more sophisticated than most people are aware. Back in the 1950s when Christianity was the only show in town, so to speak, simplicity was okay. Today, Christians are exposed every day to challenges from mass media, philosophical atheists, and competing religions. In this context, it is helpful to explore the depth of your own faith. So what I have tried to do is to expose my readers to the traditional teaching of the church and the Biblical basis for it.
